Acceptable Use Policy

What we will and won’t edit, and the standards we hold every project to.

This is not legal advice. These policies are written to accurately describe how Real Estate Video Editor actually operates today. Before relying on them for compliance, have a licensed attorney in your operating jurisdiction review them — data protection law (GDPR, CCPA and equivalents) is jurisdiction-specific and changes over time.

These rules exist to keep every video we produce honest, legal, and safe to publish. We reserve the right to decline or stop work on any project that breaches them.

Rights to footage

Do not send us footage, photographs or music you don’t have the right to use. If a rights dispute arises after delivery because supplied material wasn’t properly licensed, responsibility sits with the client who provided it, per our Terms of Service.

Accuracy about the property

We will not edit a video to misrepresent a property’s condition, size or features — for example, digitally removing visible defects, exaggerating room dimensions through misleading framing, or implying a feature exists that doesn’t. This protects both the buyer viewing the video and the agent whose name is on the listing.

Fair housing

We will not incorporate scripting, captions or direction that violates fair housing law — no language or imagery that indicates a preference or limitation based on a protected characteristic. See the HUD Fair Housing Act advertising guidance if you’re unsure whether requested copy or direction crosses a line — we will flag it before editing if we think it might.

Unlawful or harmful material

We won’t edit or generate video containing unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or infringing material, or material that violates a third party’s rights.

Virtual staging disclosure

Our AI video maker’s virtual staging feature is opt-in only and must be disclosed. If you use virtual staging, you agree to disclose in your listing that furnishings shown are virtually staged and not physically present, consistent with MLS and consumer protection expectations around digitally altered listing media.

Consequences of breach

If a project breaches this policy, we may decline to start it, pause work pending clarification, or stop work and refund the unworked portion at our discretion, depending on severity and whether the breach was disclosed to us upfront.

Reporting misuse

If you believe content we produced is being misused, or you’re concerned about a project brief you’ve been asked to submit, email [email protected] and we’ll review it.
