Our Story

Our Story, in Short

Real Estate Video Editor didn’t start as a real estate business. It started as general freelance editing — corporate video, YouTube channels, small-business promo — until repeated referrals into property video exposed a gap nobody else serving that market was closing properly: colour that didn’t match between drone and interior shots, MLS-branding rejections, and turnaround too slow to be useful before a listing went live. Fixing those problems, one client at a time, is what turned a generalist sideline into a real-estate-only specialist team.

Why This Website Exists

This site does two things for real estate agents, photographers and media teams. First, it’s a specialist editing service — property video and now AI photo-to-video, built around the format rules (MLS compliance, vertical reframing, colour-matched drone footage) that generalist editors routinely get wrong. Second, it’s a growing library of free guides covering everything we learned getting those rules right, so you can use them whether or not you ever hire us.

If you hire us

You get a 24–48 hour turnaround, MLS-compliant unbranded exports, and colour-matched drone and interior footage cut together properly, every time.

If you edit it yourself

The guides section covers the same software, colour and format decisions we make internally, written by the people who actually do the editing.

What does a real estate video editor do?

A real estate video editor takes the raw footage from a property shoot and turns it into a finished listing video. The work covers selecting and sequencing clips, setting pacing, correcting and grading colour, stabilising camera movement, synchronising music, adding captions and property information, applying agent branding, and exporting to every format the listing needs.

We are a dedicated real estate video editing company. Property media is the only thing we work on — no weddings, no corporate video, no general YouTube editing. That specialisation is why we know the walkthrough order buyers expect, why every order ships with an MLS-compliant unbranded cut, and why a kitchen gets twelve seconds and a bathroom gets six.

The editing process

What our real estate video editors handle

Every order goes through the same seven stages, run by an editor who works on property media every day.

  • Ingest and review — all footage logged, unusable clips flagged before we start
  • Assembly and pacing — sequenced into walkthrough order, cut rhythm set against the music
  • Colour correction — exposure and white balance fixed per room across mixed lighting
  • Colour grading — one consistent look across the whole timeline
  • Audio — licensed music synced to cuts, cleanup, sound design on transitions
  • Graphics — titles, lower thirds, property overlays, your branding, end card
  • Export — 16:9 and 9:16, branded and unbranded, at 1080p or 4K

Before and after

What a real estate video editor actually changes

Before and after real estate video colour correction showing white balance corrected per room across mixed interior lighting

Colour corrected per room

Property interiors mix daylight, tungsten and LED. We correct white balance room by room and match exposure across every clip, which is the single biggest quality marker in property video.

Before and after real estate drone video editing showing horizon correction and colour matching between aerial and interior footage

Drone matched to interior

Aerial and ground footage are shot on different sensors with different colour science. We level the horizon, correct lens distortion and match the two cameras so the cut is invisible.

Before and after showing a plain property clip and the same clip with agent branding, animated lower thirds and property detail overlays

Branded for the agent

Animated lower thirds with your name and contact details, property detail overlays, brokerage logo in your brand colours, and a call-to-action end card.

Real estate video delivery formats: 16:9 for MLS and YouTube, 9:16 for Reels and TikTok, 1:1 and 4:5 for social feeds

Delivered in every format

16:9 for MLS and YouTube, 9:16 reframed shot by shot for Reels and TikTok, plus branded and unbranded versions of each — included at no extra cost.

How We Work

Our Editing Philosophy

Three things every edit is held to, condensed from the full editing philosophy:

Fast delivery

24–48 hours standard, because a great edit delivered after a listing’s launch campaign is worth less than a good one delivered on time.

Clean, conversion-focused cuts

No gimmick transitions. Hard cuts and simple crossfades, colour-matched throughout, built to move a viewer through the property, not to win a showreel.

Honesty about limits

If footage isn’t good enough to edit well, we say so before taking your money, not after delivering something weak.

Roadmap

What’s Next

What we’re actively building, in order: a public video example library so you can judge quality before hiring us, real client case studies as projects are completed and clients agree to be featured, reusable title-card and LUT templates for agents and photographers who edit their own footage, and continued expansion of the AI video maker’s template styles and output length.

Follow the guides section for new publishing as each of these ships — nothing here is announced before it’s real.

Real estate video editor FAQs

What is a real estate video editor?

A real estate video editor is a specialist who turns raw property footage into a finished listing video. The work includes clip selection and sequencing, pacing, colour correction and grading, stabilisation, music synchronisation, captions, property detail overlays, agent branding and export to every format a listing needs. It differs from general video editing because property video has its own conventions — walkthrough order, MLS branding rules, and length expectations by property type.

How much does a real estate video editor cost?

Our editing starts at $99 for an Essential Listing Edit and runs to $299 for a Luxury & Drone Edit, with volume pricing from $75. Across the wider market, freelance marketplaces run $30 to $150 per video, dedicated outsourcing shops sit around $140, and mid-market production companies charge $300 to $800 per project.

How long does it take to edit a real estate video?

A professional editor spends two to four hours of working time on a standard listing. Our standard turnaround is 24 to 48 hours from receiving your footage and brief. Rush delivery in 12 hours is available at a 30% surcharge and same-day under 8 hours at 50%.

Can you edit footage I shot on my phone?

Yes, and a large share of the footage we receive is phone footage. Modern phones shoot excellent property video. Steady movement and consistent exposure matter far more than the camera. Our free shot list covers what to capture.

Do I get a version I can put on the MLS?

Yes, on every order at no extra cost. We deliver an unbranded cut with no agent or brokerage identification alongside your branded version, because most MLSs prohibit agent branding on syndicated media.

Do you deliver vertical versions for Instagram and TikTok?

Yes, included in every order. We reframe the 9:16 version shot by shot rather than centre-cropping the horizontal edit, because centre-cropping removes 56% of the frame and usually removes the subject with it.

Can you make a video if I only have listing photos?

Yes. Our AI real estate video maker builds a cinematic property video from 8 to 30 listing photographs, with generated camera movement, transitions, captions, music and your branding.

Do you work with clients outside the United States?

Yes. We are fully remote and work with agents, photographers and brokerages in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and worldwide. All files transfer digitally.

Do you edit drone footage?

Yes, and it is one of the things we do most. We correct horizon drift and lens distortion, apply the correct manufacturer LUT to log footage, and colour-match the aerial material to your interior camera so the cut between them is seamless.

How do I send you large video files?

Whatever is easiest — our upload link, Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer or FTP. There is no file size limit. A typical property shoot of 30 to 60 clips runs 10 to 40GB and that is completely normal.

Work with a real estate video editor who only does property.

Send your footage and we will confirm a firm price and delivery date within 4 business hours.

Why it matters

How real estate video editing affects a listing

Video has moved from a luxury add-on to a baseline expectation on most listings. The National Association of REALTORS® publishes annual research on how buyers search and what marketing they respond to, and video consistently appears among the media buyers say they want and often cannot find.

The practical consequence for an agent is simple: the listings that have video are competing on a different footing from the listings that do not. The obstacle has never been whether video works — it is that producing it is slow, and the person who filmed it is usually the person who has to edit it.

That is the specific problem a real estate video editor removes. You keep the part you are good at, which is capturing the property and selling it, and hand off the part that costs you a working day.

For the agent

  • Listing video live the same week the listing goes live
  • A stronger listing presentation for the next seller
  • Consistent social content without becoming a content creator
  • One shoot producing five distinct assets

For the photographer

  • Editing stops being your capacity ceiling
  • Turnaround you can safely promise your own clients
  • Consistent output under your own brand
  • Margin protected because you are not paying yourself to edit

Buyer’s checklist

What to look for when choosing a real estate video editor

Whether you hire us or somebody else, these are the questions that separate a professional editing service from a cheap cut. We publish them because a buyer who knows what to ask gets better work from everybody.

  1. Do they work only on real estate? Property video has conventions — walkthrough order, MLS branding rules, length by property type — that a generalist editor does not know and will not think to ask about.
  2. Is pricing published? A provider who will not publish a price before a discovery call is pricing you, not the work.
  3. Is turnaround published, in hours? “Fast” is not a commitment. “24 to 48 hours from receipt of footage and brief” is.
  4. Do both aspect ratios come as standard? Charging separately for a vertical version of a video you already paid to have edited is the industry’s most common upsell.
  5. Do they supply an unbranded cut? Most MLSs prohibit agent branding on syndicated media. If you have to ask for the compliant version, they do not do this often enough.
  6. Can they show a before and after? Anyone can show a finished video. A before and after shows you what they actually changed.
  7. Do they colour-match drone to interior footage? This is the single clearest technical marker. Ask to see a cut that goes from aerial to entry.
  8. What is the revision policy, in writing? Two rounds is the professional standard. One round with paid extras is a pricing trick.
  9. Who is doing the work? A named editor you can talk to beats a ticket queue every time.
  10. Will they tell you when your footage is not usable? The good ones say so before you pay. The rest deliver something unusable and count it as a revision.

Our answers to all ten are on this site in writing. See the full editing service or read what a real estate video editor actually does.
